Experienced Therapists Dedicated to Your Wellbeing

Counselling Gloucestershire is the collaboration of Laura Colquhoun, a BACP registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Psychiatrist and NHS GP Dr Graham Sanderson.

Laura Colquhoun

I have a FdA in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy and a BA (Hons) in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I hold an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma (level 7) in Couples & Sex Therapy.

I also hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Executive Coaching from Henley Business school.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I practice ethically, morally and with absolute dedication to the well-being of my clients and to the standards set out by the BACP.

I am committed to continuous professional development.

I carry professional indemnity insurance and am DBS checked to work with children and adults. I work with individuals as well as couples.

I’m a parent and have also opened my home to teenagers from a local international language school where I have acted as their UK ‘foster parent’ and understand the challenges brought about by bringing up children whilst being a working mother.

Before becoming a therapist I worked for many years in the music and film industry in London and have a strong business background. My interests include walking my dogs, yoga, running, travel, literature and painting.

Dr Graham Sanderson

As a senior clinician with 25 years experience of successfully treating the mental and physical health of patients I have the ability to offer primary care in all aspects of wellbeing.

I combine expertise in speciality areas of Psychiatry, Primary Care and Addiction Medicine to enable an innovative, evidence based approach to complex and often distressing manifestations of emotional and psychological crisis.

Acknowledging the limitations of current mainstream service provision our practice works effectively with patients and their families to formulate robust evidence based treatment plans.

I have a track record of innovative and ground breaking service design, particularly for high challenge/high risk individuals. I established the UK’s first Women Only Drug treatment service, and was subsequently invited to present my model of Intelligent Commissioning at the House of Lords All Party Parliamentary Group on Dual Diagnosis & Complex Needs.

I have parented three children ( two daughters and a son ) and have a full understanding of the rewards and challenges of this ongoing journey.

My personal interests include travel, literature, writing, Ju Jitsu and when time allows, sailing.
